I can confirm that these aren't the Swing-A-Way openers of yesteryear that have inspired generations of loyal followers. The old Swing-A-Way openers were made in the USA and lasted for decades. I've bought two of the current models in the past 5 years based on the quality of the old openers I remember from growing up, and they've both been duds. Instead of decades, now they're wearing ...

I received this item 9/2011. It is made in China and is not heavy durable metal like the U.S.A. model. Since 2008, models 107, 407, 709 and 6090 appear to be made in China and are inferior to the original which had "Made in USA" stamped on the metal arm. I will no longer purchase Swing-a-Way brand due to quality issues.
